Possible death & destruction planned in Telford this weekend!

Over 3,000 computer gamers are expected to descend on the county this weekend (26th - 29th August 2011) when the national Insomnia Gaming Festival takes place at Telford International Centre.

Midland Computers gets ready for Insomnia43An ever-growing band of ‘Gamers’, featuring people of all ages, locally and from across the country, will compete for prize money of around £20,000 by taking part in PC and Xbox games including Call of Duty, League of Legends, FIFA 11 and Warcraft.

There will be separate halls for competitions, exhibitions and displays, a turn up and play section and a dedicated ‘chill out’ area.

Local IT specialists, Midland Computers of Halesfield, Telford, has been nominated to support the event and will be donating a state-of-the-art bespoke computer system worth over £2,000 as a prize to one lucky winner.

Ian Skelton, marketing manager said: “We are delighted to be involved with this prestigious national event as it provides an ideal showcase for us to promote our wide range of IT services and more especially the ‘custom built’ top end gaming computers from our Premier range.

“Our expert technicians will be on hand together with a full display of all the very latest equipment and software available. We expect it to be a very successful and fun event as the festival is aimed at both novice and experienced gamers alike.”
