Back to Business for James...

15-07-2010

A young Shropshire IT worker has returned to his training company to talk to students about his experiences, as a thank you to the organisation for finding him his dream job.

James Pilling, aged 17, of Stirchley, Telford, completed an intensive five-month training course at the Zenos Academy, based in Grosvenor House at Central Park in Telford.

Using the relevant training, qualifications and advice gained from his course, James then beat nearly 70 other applicants to land a job as an assistant account manager at leading regional IT specialists, Midland Computers based on Halesfield in Telford.

Mike Haycox, account manager for the company says: "During the interviews for the vacancy, James was head and shoulders above the other applicants with his positive attitude, knowledge and appearance - and he also asked the right sort of questions.

"He now has a list of nearly 50 small account clients for which he is personally responsible, as well as generally assisting our sales team and I am sure he has a very bright future within the company."

James commented: "I am really grateful to the Zenos Academy for the training and complete package they provided to enable me to get this great job. I am now involved with sourcing computer hardware, price comparisons and even computer build specifications. It is all very exciting."

Zenos training centre manager Anne McKim added: "Our course is very intensive and run on a purely business basis where students are treated as adults and must have the right appearance and approach to working life.

"We concentrate not only on providing our students with industry-specific qualifications, but also on ‘people skills’ and interview techniques, which has resulted in a 98% success rate in finding them employment.

"We were delighted when James agreed to come back and talk to the current group of students about his experience and wish him every success in his new career."
