Environmentally friendly cars for Midland

16-08-2010

JT Hughes, with dealerships in Telford, Shrewsbury, Oswestry and Newtown, has come up with a perfect solution to company car requirements for a leading regional IT company.

Specialist IT hardware and business software providers, Midland Computers, based on Halesfield in Telford, were looking to replace two aging vehicles with new models, which needed to have low tax, reduced running costs and a low environmental impact.

After joint consultation on requirements, JT Hughes provided two of the latest Honda Insight hybrid cars, which can achieve a fuel consumption figure of 64 miles per gallon, have a road fund tax of only £15 and do not have to pay the London congestion charges. The vehicles also provide simple on-board graphic driver displays to promote the most practical driving style, thereby constantly keep performance and economy at a premium.

Managing director of Midland Computers Chris Bickerton said: "These vehicles ticked all the right boxes and this is an excellent example of reciprocal business trading, as JT Hughes are customers of ours and we both cover the same trading region throughout the Midlands and Mid Wales. This is just one small part of our company's efforts to improve our green credentials and reduce our carbon footprint."

Daniel Bowdler, corporate manager for JT Hughes, added: "Our existing relationship with Midland Computers meant that we had a good idea of exactly what they needed. The new Honda Insight is an affordable, reliable, stylish and very practical hybrid car which offers an eight-year or 100,000 mile warranty of the battery/hybrid element, alongside the usual three-year road warranty."
