Ex-SAS man's website on mission - Shropshire Star, April '09

15-04-2009

Two Shropshire companies have joined forces to help a county man raise funds for fellow injured soldiers.

Stuart Trow, aged 33, a former SAS and Parachute Regiment member from north Shropshire, lost part of his leg during the military campaign in Afghanistan and is now planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, to raise money towards the Help for Heroes campaign which supports wounded servicemen and women.

Stuart has thanked Midland Computers of Halesfield, Telford and Stylus Design of Shrewsbury who have jointly created and will be hosting a website called ‘Hero Climb’ to enable Stuart to fund equipment and raise sponsorship in preparation for the gruelling charity expedition in October.

Stuart said: “Not only did I survive my terrible injuries, but I later married Lisa and now have two wonderful children. I feel extremely fortunate and feel that I would like to give something back.

“I know that I will struggle physically to complete the challenge, but I am training hard and I am determined to reach the top and raise as much money as possible for Help for Heroes.”

Peter Barfield of Midland Computers commented: “Stuart’s determination and bravery to help other injured heroes in their time of need is inspiring. I wish him great success and will be watching his blog with interest."

Anil Amrit of Stylus added: “ I have been amazed by Stuart's mindset and determination and I am very pleased to help in any way so that he can achieve his goal - and I have no doubt that he will succeed!"
