Gaming Website A Winner - Shropshire Star, June 09

A leading Shropshire computer company is experiencing unprecedented sales success with a new website – developed by its own national champion.

Midland Computers of Telford has launched the dedicated site aimed at well-heeled customers who are demanding the best computer equipment to keep up with the latest games.

Its technical sales advisor Philip Brown of Shrewsbury recently won the UK’s national ‘overclocking’ championship where standard computer components are pushed beyond their limits.

Philip has helped with specifications for ultimate equipment offers on the ‘Midland Premier’ website and incredibly his firm has reported sales of £40,000 in the first few days.

The Halesfield company historically sells technical IT systems to businesses but saw a gap in the market and introduced the site ‘designed by serious gamers for serious gamers’.

“We are absolutely amazed at the success of the website – it is one of our most exciting and innovative ventures of recent years,” said Hedley Corcoran, (pictured) sales director of Midland Computers.

“The computers we are selling through the site are specially-developed and unbelievably powerful and fast. As an avid gamer myself, I can see why they are being so well received.

“They are the ultimate gaming machines –  very expensive but worth every penny!”

The latest games feature fast-paced action and detailed graphics and the computers offered on the site surpass all commercial PC specification, with prices ranging from £2,000 to well over £4,000.

They are aimed at demanding ‘clan members’ - groups of gamers who fight on the same sites - but will not only benefit serious gamers. A local business owner has purchased a machine to support his ‘Flight Simulator X’ experience, along with three monitors to represent the cockpit windows, whilst learning to fly.
