New Technology Launched by Midland Computers

15-02-2010

As part of the company’s continued growth in areas of new technology, Telford-based Midland Computers has announced that it is rolling out a new campaign to save businesses time and money.

The Company is believed to be the first in the region to be recognised as a VMware professional Partner, the global leaders in the virtualisation of computer software.

“All businesses need to manage IT costs without losing time or performance. VMware is a cost-effective virtualisation solution which can increase the productivity of staff by three times and can save more than 50% on the cost of managing, powering and cooling servers,” explained Midland Computers engineering manager Ian Cox.

“Many large companies use several different servers at once, which is not always efficient. VMware will search for the most economical source at any given time so with companies looking to cut costs, virtualisation can play a big part by utilising only servers which are specifically needed.

“The savings afforded by the reduced hardware costs are just what our larger clients are looking for. And it is a ‘greener’ system as there are long-term power savings.

“We are thrilled to have achieved this VMware partnership which confirms our commitment to larger businesses in the region, that can help them to reduce their costs and hardware requirements as we have in our business,” Ian said.

“Midland Computers are not new to VMware and we have virtualised a considerable amount of our infrastructure over the past 6 months as well as supplying the solution to some of our existing larger business clients”

Hosting is carried out at Midland Computer’s Halesfield premises, providing the necessary backup 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Several installations are up and running with others under way, including their own internal systems at Telford.
