Ian Cox (Senior Management Engineer)
Ian joined Midland Computers as their Senior Management Engineer in November 2006 after 19 years of service in the Royal Air Force travelling the globe as an Aircraft Engineer.
He brought to the company a vast portfolio of industry recognised credentials that included Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician, Microsoft Certified Professional in
both Windows 2000 & Windows XP as well as being a Microsoft OEM System Builder. His knowledge and skills are further reinforced by his CompTIA Server+, Networking+ & A+
Certifications. In addition to these Ian is also a Hewlett Packard Accredited Platform Specialist.
Since Joining the team Ian has furthered his experience and expanded his knowledge by attaining the Dell Certified Systems Expert qualifications in both Servers, Desktops &
Notebooks as well as achieving one of his personal targets of being recognised as a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator. Recently these have been updated to the newer
credentials such as Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, Microsoft Certified IT Professional in both Server 2008 and desktop Windows platforms that include windows Vista and
Windows 7.
David Haycox (Consultant Engineer)
After completing his master's degree in Business Information Systems, David was employed by Midland Computers at the company's conception in 1999 as a Senior Engineer.
The experience that he has gained in the business sector is second to none and in 2006, David culminated all of his experience by completing his MCSE (Microsoft Certified
Systems Engineer) accreditation - proving his expertise in Microsoft Server products and solutions. In 2008 David was promoted to Consultant Engineer and is now employed in the
more demanding and technically complex work that requires his expertise, including the designing and provisioning of VMware solutions. David's knowledge and experience are
constantly tested as new products evolve, and he has updated his certifications to more recent credentials such as Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist and Microsoft
Certified IT Professional (in both Server 2008 and desktop Windows platforms, including Windows Vista and Windows 7). David is a VMware Certified Professional and is building
on his high level of experience in administering and configuring Cisco equipment in 2010 David completed his Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Kevin Hall (Senior Engineer)
Kevin joined Midland Computers as a Field Engineer in June 2008
after 5 years working as Technical Support Engineer in a local
secondary school. During his time at the school he worked his way
up to NVQ level 3 in ICT Technical Support, backing up the 2 A
levels in ICT obtained from college.
Since joining Midland Computers Kevin has increased his experience
and obtained a number of industry recognised certifications, including
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in both Windows Vista and
Server 2008 configuration, CompTIA server certifications and Acronis
accreditations. In April 2011 Kevin was promoted to the role of
Senior Engineer. Kevin is currently studying and working to expand
his already vast server experience and to obtain the Microsoft
Certified IT Professional accreditation in Server 2008.
Greg Norton (Field Engineer)
Greg started with Midland Computers as a Field Engineer in August
2010 after 2 years working as a technical support engineer in a
local secondary school. Prior to this he attended the Zenos IT
Academy in Telford for training, culminating in 2 Microsoft
Certified Professional qualifications in desktop platforms and a
Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician accreditation to his
name. Greg is also certified as a CompTIA A+ technician.
Amy Pilling (Customer Support Engineer)
Amy worked for a major PC retailer whilst attending the Zenos IT
Academy based in Telford. In September 2009, Amy joined Midland
Computers as a Customer Support Engineer. Her role makes her the
primary contact for customers requesting technical support on a
first tier level, where the skills and training she received at
college whilst obtaining her Microsoft Certified Desktop Support
Technician accreditation are proven daily. Amy is also certified
as a CompTIA A+ technician.
David Barnes (Senior Engineer)
David Barnes became fascinated with IT at a young age and cut his teeth on a Commodore VIC-20. After gaining his BTEC national diploma in computing with a distinction, David
realised that he had found his niche and upon leaving college worked at a couple of major PC retailers in the service and repair side of the business. In 2003 David joined the
team at Midland Computers as a Senior Engineer and has proven his knowledge and experience for many years now. In 2008 David achieved a long term goal by attaining the Microsoft
Certified Systems Administrator certification. David is a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in SQL server products as well as being a Microsoft Certified Professional in
many Windows desktop platforms including Windows 2000 and XP and a Microsoft Certified IT Professional Enterprise Support Technician. David is also a Dell Certified Systems
Expert and a Hewlett Packard Accredited Platform Specialist.
Graeme Marsh (Build Engineer)
Graeme Marsh started with Midland Computers having left school in 2002. As the "behind the scenes" Technician working in the build room, Graeme is the Technician that builds,
tests and takes care of all of the initial configuration of Midland Computers Branded PC's and Servers. In 2004 Graeme completed his NVQ Level 2 in Information Technology
(Installing and Supporting IT Systems).
Trevor Marsh (Senior Support Engineer)
Trevor got the computer bug at college whilst it was still in its infancy and was used to working with the ICL Mini with teletype input and punched tape storage. Trevor then
went on to write database systems for local small businesses.
In 2003 Trevor joined a growing Midland Computers to head up the first tier support department, since this time he has naturally progressed to his current role of Senior
Support Engineer. In 2008 Trevor obtained his Microsoft Certified Professional accreditation in Supporting Users and Troubleshooting, he is currently studying for his Microsoft
Certified Desktop Support Technician accreditation.
Matthew Conway (Field Engineer)
Matthew started with Midland Computers as a Field Engineer in July 2011.
The move is the next step in his career and will provide for many new
challenges after working as an onsite engineer for a smaller local
IT Company for over 2 years. Prior to this he attended the Zenos
IT Academy in Telford for training, culminating in 2 Microsoft
Certified Professional qualifications in desktop platforms and
a Microsoft Desktop Certified Support Technician Certification.
He has also qualified as a CompTIA A+ Technician
